Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q.Why are photo dimensions and file sizes restricted on govt portals?
Centralised exam systems (SSC, UPSC, CTET, NEET) process millions of applications. Having consistent dimensions (like 3.5cm x 4.5cm) and file size range (20KB - 50KB) allows their server scanners to efficiently crop and verify student identities.
Q.How does this tool match my target file size (KB)?
Our smart compression engine processes the image directly inside your browser. It uses HTML5 Canvas to scale pixels and runs an iterative quality-fitting loop to compress the final JPEG output under your specified maximum KB limit without ever uploading your file to our servers.
Q.What is the ideal resolution for Government Exam signatures?
Signatures are typically wider than they are tall. Portals like SSC require a 6.0cm x 3.0cm aspect ratio, whereas banking portals (IBPS) require a smaller 140px x 60px size. Select the appropriate preset card above to automatically load correct dimensions.
